MAKING SENSE OF THE WORLD WE LIVE IN

What is the best thing we can bring to life as we now are seeing and experiencing it? The answer is; Consciousness! Does it make sense in the midst of global financial insecurity, natural disasters and evidence of fighting and struggling in the world, to still honor and place credence in experiencing our innermost spiritual nature? The essential qualities of this nature of God/Spirit/Truth/Ultimate Reality are peace, oneness, wisdom, kindness, creativity and so much more. The premise is that this nature must be and is forever consistent and undeviating from that which it is. On the other hand, our oftentimes inconsistent human nature…decries, “Are you kidding, get your head out of the sand and look around you…this is no time for ‘pie in the sky’ platitudes.” Or, is it that for times such as these, this is exactly the only thing that can do the most good? To which I say, “Yes!”

Indulge me…take an interiorly, introspective, spiritual journey of exploration with me. I Am sure we aren’t the first place in civilization’s evolvement where it could be said, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…” The distinguishing factor remains constant: It truly isn’t about the condition, which in and of itself is neutral…it is always about our response to it. Are we predominantly emotionally reactive and feeling either attraction or repulsion to or from what is occurring…or, do we go to the centrifugal point of poise and equilibrium within, where truly we remember at a soul level who and what we are? Are we inwardly inclined to respond from an inner realization of spiritual connection and cohesiveness, rather than scattered human fear and jumbled emotions which require we must immediately ‘do’ something and quickly, in order to remedy/fix/change the outer? Ah…the potent moment of choice…

Jesus, the Christ Consciousness said, “In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer…I Am in the world, but not of the world.” What in the world does that mean? Back to our original idea that, ‘When I change the way I look at things, the things I look at change.” *** The first person responding to me via my e-mail address, as to who is reputed to have said that, receives a free one-hour counseling session with me!

I have lived upon this earth for many a year, I have studied, learned, and still learn that the only enduring aspect of that which heals, uplifts, clarifies and transcends…the only thing that has the quality and possibility to lift me above and beyond what is happening to an inner space of delight and discernment is born of a conscious recognition that, “There is One Life, that Life is God, that Life is Perfect, Whole and Complete and that LIfe is my life now and always.” (Ernest Holmes, the founder of Science of Mind)

AWARENESS CONTEMPLATION:In your ‘first thing in the morning’ meditation time, just be seated comfortably, eyes closed, and be aware of your breath entering and leaving your body. What a marvel this is. Cool air coming in, warmed air, leaving. Stay with this awareness: Breath enters through nostirils, immersing lungs, performing wondrous body building functions which I Am ‘unconscious’ of. And, breath leaves body, creating a cycle of giving, receiving, coming and going, in’ing and out’ing. How relaxing, while at the same time stirring this realization is…stay with the breath…in God/Spirit/Truth/Ultimate Realtiy…LOVE…and out…know and accept how blessed, accepted, and how much a part of the entire creative process you are…enjoy the experience of simply…BEING!

AFFIRMATIVE PRAYER:And, I simply, naturally, easily follow the ways of my innate nature…I weave in and out of creative ideas, thoughts and feelings that remind me that I Am a loving, vibrantly living expression of Creative, Universal Mind. I Am here to reveal the next expanded version of the Divine Being Itself as me. I bring my contribution to ‘a world that works for everyone’ by awakening humanly to the magnificence of my spiritual nature.’ I bring my unique gifts, talents and resources to life as it is mine to do, knowing in this creative process I bless and benefit myself and all others. And, so it is.
